Bonita Loman

Bonita Loman (Bonnie) describes herself as a self-taught artist.  She believes that life is not about finding yourself, but creating yourself.

She grew up in Blawnox, Pennsylvania,  a suburb of Pittsburgh.  Her first exposure to art was from her Polish Grandmother, Babka, who enjoyed all aspects of crafting and encouraged Bonnie’s creativity.

Bonnie was an eager and prolific art student from a young age. Beginning in high school, she entered several competitions and was recognized with an honorable mention for one of her  sculptures in school.  She then expanded her knowledge of other mediums and techniques with Tole painting classes.

During her career with the Veterans Canteen Service, she continued to take art classes, but her job took priority over her artist pursuits.

After retirement, Bonnie and her husband moved to Walton County, Florida. Once settled, she unpacked her long-forgotten art supplies and her creative spirit was reignited!

She now works in mixed media, oil, watercolor and acrylics.   She loves vibrant and lively colors and incorporates them in her art.

Her mixed media compositions combine the coastal themes of her home community in Northwest Florida with personal accents from her Mom’s jewelry collection.

Bonnie has surrounded herself with beauty and her garden is as creative and free spirited as she is.
